Exploring Safe and Effective "Low-Dose" Testosterone Cycles
Written by

In a study, the results of which were published in 2007 in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research (JSCR), young healthy men received 275-315 mg of testosterone enanthate weekly (250 mg every 6 days).

This is approximately three times higher than the amount of testosterone naturally produced by the average man.

At the same time, the achieved level of testosterone in the blood is not excessively high, approximately at the level of 40-42 nmol/L.

"Soft" Dosages of Testosterone

As a result of the "course" that lasted six weeks, all the study subjects practicing strength training significantly increased their bench press – the difference compared to the control group, whose members also trained according to the same program, was striking.

But most importantly, the "chemists" gained an average of 10 pounds in mass, while the "naturals" did not gain even one. Of course, such a result can be partially attributed to the fact that for the overwhelming majority, this was their first experience with AAS, but still, it's impressive.

In addition to the impressive result, two more interesting points should be highlighted:

  1. Synthesis of Own Testosterone None of the young men receiving testosterone injections had their own testosterone production completely suppressed, although the level exceeded the norm for a sufficiently long period.
Recovery after the "course" went quickly, without problems, and even without additional help in the form of gonadotropin and anti-estrogens.
  2. Doping Test Four out of nine "chemists" tested negative (!) immediately (!!) after the "course". A week later, eight out of nine study subjects tested negative.
From this, it can be concluded that "soft" dosages are relatively safe, and that they have potential for use in preparation for competitions where doping control is expected.

Strictly speaking, "soft" dosages can be considered quite physiological: the body does not react with adaptation, which means they can be used for a long time without the risk of reduced effectiveness.

Combination of Testosterone and Oxandrolone

What if we add something else? It would be logical to add testosterone used in moderate dosages with oxandrolone – I have already talked about the effectiveness of such a combination, calling it my favorite. Well, since it is my favorite, I know much more about it than about others – at least from personal experience.

So, if you add a little oxandrolone (20-30 mg per day) to testosterone, the effectiveness of the "course" will significantly increase. In this case, even experienced "chemists" can achieve approximately the same progress over the same 6 weeks of the first such "course". It is clear that such progress will not be permanent, but still.

However, recovery after the "course" will be more difficult: despite the fact that in low doses oxandrolone is considered a "soft" drug, it can enhance the negative impact of testosterone on the HPT axis.

And a small conclusion: it is not necessary to chase high dosages, thinking that only they can help you. What we are used to calling "baby doses" can also bring quite noticeable benefits, with relatively low risks or even their complete absence.
