Mr Olympia 2022 men's open
This year, a record number of participants was declared. The intrigue persisted until the last moment, resulting in the new Mr. Olympia.
This page presents a detailed report of the results of the Olympia 2022 with photos and videos. At the bottom of the overview, you can see the complete ranking, which shows how the places were distributed among all participants in the open division, as well as the size of the cash prizes.

Olympia 2022 Debutants
The open category pleased a large number of new participants. The appearance of some was eagerly awaited by the audience.
Among them are Slovak athlete Michal Križanek, Ukrainian Vladislav Sukhoruchko, and, of course, Derek Lunsford, who can also be considered a newcomer in the open category, as last year he competed in the "212 men's" division
Vladislav Sukhoruchko
First of all, I would like to say a few words about the newcomer to the tournament. This is Ukrainian athlete Vladislav Sukhoruchko. His debut was supposed to take place last year.
The athlete was actively preparing for the upcoming competitions, but Vlad couldn't get a visa and did not participate in Olympia 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions
Vlad Sukhoruchko showed good form, but he didn't manage to enter the top 15.
Michal Križanek
Michal Križanek is another newcomer to the Olympia. His appearance on stage was eagerly awaited by many bodybuilding fans.
This athlete has recently moved from Elite Pro to NPC and has already gained enormous popularity. His appearance at Olympia 2022 generated great interest.
The athlete looked massive on stage, but with such competition level, he only took 12th place.
It is likely that by the next tournament, Michal will be able to improve his form and in the future, he will be able to confidently stay in the top 10.
Samson Dauda sixth place
Another newcomer to the tournament is Samson Dauda. In his debut at the Olympia, he immediately took 6th place, which is very good for a newcomer, especially with this level of competition.
Samson Daouda received an IFBB Pro card in 2018. In 2022, the Nigerian athlete finished fourth at the Arnold Classic and the Boston Pro, while at the Olympia, he placed sixth.
This year, Samson shows the best result of his career, but it is evident that this promising athlete still has plenty of room to progress!
Big Ramy fifth place
After last year's Olympia 2021, there were many questions and criticisms regarding the judging. Many saw the winner as Hadi Choopan, whom the judges then placed second.
This year, the situation has drastically changed. Two-time Mr. Olympia, last year's tournament winner, Big Ramy couldn't even compete for a place in the top 3. The result was the tournament's 5th place.
After Olympia 2022, Big Ramy recorded a video where he said he was not going to give up, that he would continue to fight for the title, and that he would bring his best form to the next tournament.
Brandon Curry fourth place
Brandon Curry gained muscle mass but also slightly lost quality. The athlete descended one position lower compared to the previous result. This time, he takes fourth place.

Nick Walker third place
Nick Walker bypassed Brandon Curry and took third place. For Nick, this is his second appearance on the Olympia stage, but despite this, he has already achieved great success.
Yes, this American bodybuilder can hardly be called an aesthete, nevertheless, having incredible dimensions, he also demonstrates excellent muscle quality.
Despite his monstrous appearance and rather broad size, the athlete nevertheless deserves such an evaluation from the judging panel.
Derek Lunsford second place
At the Olympia 2021, Derek Lunsford impressed everyone with his incredible shape and became the tournament winner, but in the 212-pound category. Then, Derek surpassed Shaun Clarida and simply didn't give him a chance to win.
Literally a year later, Derek gained mass and is again fighting with his shape, but this time in the open category. The athlete is not fighting for a place in the top 10 or the top 5; he is aiming for the first place!
Derek Lunsford made a spectacular breakthrough. He won second place and seems to be the future Mr. Olympia in the years to come.
Slim waist, excellent proportions, outstanding quality - that's Derek Lunsford. It seems that the athlete simply has no weaknesses, and the title is only a matter of time.

Hadi Choopan Mr. Olympia 2022
Hadi Choopan has put in tremendous work throughout his career. Nonetheless, Derek Lunsford failed to surpass Hadi. Last year, many were dissatisfied with Hadi being placed only in second!
The Iranian athlete has long awaited the title, and his time has finally come! Derek Lunsford has phenomenal proportions, but Hadi was in better condition than the open category newcomer.
Hadi fought long and hard for the title. His next goal is to repeat his success and win the title of "double Mr. Olympia".
In an interview after the tournament, Hadi stated that he was willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal. And indeed, the day after the competitions, he was already at the gym, training hard. You can't deny his determination.
This time, Hadi decided to focus on muscle mass. As a result, the athlete stepped on stage weighing 106 kg, which is 4.5 kg more than last year. He didn't lose his definition while having a more massive and "full" appearance.
